Malvern Hills Trek

Following on from the success of our ‘Sunset Experience’ walking expedition at the start of the year, we recently arranged another walking experience to the magnificent Malvern Hills. A beautiful location between the three English counties of Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Gloucestershire that inspired some of the locations in JRR Tolkien’s Hobbit books.

The day started at 7.30am at Parc Bryn Bach, where everyone met up before travelling together to Malvern.

At 9am, the group set out from the expedition start point of the Hike at Chase End and walked over Chase End Hill, Ragged Stone Hill, Swinyard Hill, Hangman's Hill, Millenium Hill and British Camp before stopping for lunch and a well-deserved ice cream at around 12.30pm.

From here, the group headed past Black Hill, Pinnacle Hill, Jubilee Hill and Perseverance Hill before stopping again for a small break. At around 3pm they made the last push up through Summer Hill, Worcestershire Beacon (where everyone took a break and some group pictures), and then made their way around the last few peaks of Sugarloaf Hill, Table Hill, North Hill and lastly End Hill where the minibus was waiting to take everyone back.

In all, the group covered approximately 9 miles, with the highest summit being Worcestershire Beacon at 425 meters (the total ascent was 2,946 meters), enjoying some spectacular views along the way.

We would like to say a huge thank you and congratulations to everyone that joined us on our Malvern Hills Trek, we had a fantastic day and we hope you did too!

Feeling inspired? Our next walking expedition will be the Amazing Abergavenny 3 Peaks Trek on Saturday 10th May (meeting at 8am at Parc Bryn Bach) - for more information on this trek, or to book a place visit our events page here.
