Sid the Rock Snake Challenge

Since the October half term we have been encouraging families and schools to get creative with us and help us to create Sid the Rock Snake - a collection of painted stones and pebbles that snake their way along the lakeside path in front of the visitor centre.

So far, 335 rocks have been painted, which means that Sid is currently 28 metres long!

We would like to make Sid as long as possible, so if you would like to help, come along and ask at the visitor centre about painting your own rocks - it’s £2.50 per rock, or you can bring along your own painted rock to contribute. Find out more about getting involved here.

In addition to all the amazing families that have helped by painting rocks to add to Sid, we would like to thank the local schools that have taken part in the challenge as well:

  • Bryn Bach Primary School

  • Deighton Primary School

  • Georgetown Primary School

  • Pen-y-Cwm School

  • St Joseph's R.C. Primary School

  • Ysgol Gymraeg Tredegar

If you know of a school that would like to get involved - please email Skye.Foxcroft@aneurinleisure.org.uk
